ORGANICALLY GROWN PRODUCE
Our farm produces a large variety of fruits and vegetables grown with organic principles. We take great pride in knowing that our produce is picked ripe and sold fresh for maximum nutritional content and superior taste. And oh…those tomatoes!
We began gardening organically in the early 1970s while living in beautiful Alaska. We expanded our talents and acreage when we re-located back to Texas and bought Indian Hills Farm in 1984. In 2001, the farm became certified as organic*…we’ve been expressing our green thumbs ever since! (*Currently, we are not certified as organic, but we are still using the same practices.)
Today, we cultivate several acres of the farm specifically for growing vegetables such as lettuce, cucumber, eggplant, and zucchini; and for producing fruits such as lemons, pears, persimmons and figs. We also specialize in unique heirloom variety vegetables and offer them as a vibrant alternative to the average store bought produce, which is cultivated for long shelf life rather than taste.
Heirloom tomatoes are Hershel’s passion and one of the main crops here at Indian Hills Farm. With names like Brandywine, Caspian Pink, Cherokee Purple, and Mortgage Lifter, these tomatoes are a real hit with robust-bodied fruit and incredible flavor. In addition, we grow several varieties of figs and pears as well as many more fruits and vegetables to keep your body healthy and your palate pleased.
